United States of America

Experienced since birth

Now listen. Read. Do not take this for granted. I did. For so many across the world, you simply cannot come here due to political reasons. But of course, we can visit them. Even without political barriers, the sheer cost of coming here is always inopportune. Imagine paying the equivalent of $10,000 a day for every day you visit. While we make $10 an hour, we can earn a Benjamin each work day. You might have to hustle. But, some people make a dollar an hour or a dollar a day in their home country. There's simply no way to afford a trip here.

Yet still less than 5 percent of US passport holders travel internationally year in and out. People point that we already have so much to see with 50 diverse states and every imaginable type of landscape.. But, you can see all this later.. We want convenience in days and money, but when you get older you will never see the places you wanted to see. USA is the most handicapped accessible place in the world. A wheelchair ramp in another country is equivalent to seeing a skyscraper or rocketship. So before you get old, travel. Yes, your kids are older finally but so are you and they have to take care of you. Once the mind is expanded it will never go back to the same size. Going New York to New Jersey can expand your mind but it will not challenge you like New Delhi or Quito. Kids need to be stimulated, as do you, from the mundane nature of ordinary life. Don’t think vacation, think travel. Don't think escape, think experience. If you escape, you only return. If you experience you evolve.

Remember prohibition? Once a right is taken away, we want it back. Even those who were not drinkers wanted the right to have a drink once it had been revoked.  Imagine a new outfit you never wore or a game you never played. If your mom asked you to give it to charity, wouldn't you say no because suddenly now you will use it and want it back. Let's not wait until we can't travel to finally travel.

Yes, I am lucky to have been born in the United States and a citizen with a passport that opens many doors throughout the world. There are many issues here, but many issues arise because we have the freedoms to create them.

So despite seeing roughly 35 states, I've yet to see Rushmore or Zion. But I will. It may only take two weeks but i rather see something that I may never see when I get older and have trouble walking.

If you never been, I recommend seeing the Grand Canyon, Niagara Falls, and Acadia National Park. And also, the Statute of Liberty, Hollywood, and the Liberty Bell.
