Returning to High School

Written by John D. Lin

After more than a decade, John returned to his hometown high school. What would he talk about? Simply about how life takes you in places you never planned, and how speech can help you find your own way back. Literally! Following two sessions, student leader, Rachel Xing left this positive and insightful testimonial:

The imperative nature of speaking skills in today’s fast-paced, communication based world is astonishing. The promise of bringing motivational speakers as Mr. John D. Lin himself taps the utmost power of communication. Mr. Lin is a highly professional and adept speaker whose eloquence will radiate through any arena, and uplift, inspire, and motivate any audience. I’ve been most blessed with the opportunity to get in touch with him, and I couldn’t be more grateful that he agreed to visit my Cardozo High School Leadership and Public Speaking Club.

From the personal attention John pays to customizing his talk to the ambiance, size, agenda, and demographics to the resilience with which he weaves a perfectly construed speech tailored to the needs of your speaking event from day 1, John’s professional and courteous demeanor will always be of great expediency. Think of listening to his talks as reading a book you can’t put down. The interactive lessons and visual aides seamlessly fall into a beautiful synergy that captivates any and all beings. At home, I learned how to grow. At school I learned how to learn. At my club, I learned how to empower and be empowered, all thanks to this one incredible man. John’s credentials as a professor of speech communication and his ardor for bringing change to this world are two factors that make this individual such an invaluable speaker.
